Daily Checklist

01

Client Context

Crush-It is a concrete-crushing company operating across thirteen locations. Keeping equipment running smoothly is critical, and even short delays in reporting machine issues can lead to costly downtime.

02

Project Goal

The goal of this project was to design a simple daily checklist that foremen could complete quickly in the field.

03

Process

The design needed to match the application already used in other sectors. The process began with detailed client sessions to define practical constraints such as language, glove interaction, and visibility in strong sunlight. A Miro workflow map helped define roles and goals, followed by low-fidelity sketches and wireframes before moving into Figma prototypes.

04

Interface Decisions

The interface was built for fast, accurate input, with high-contrast visuals, structured steps and a status slider that reduced repetitive typing while still allowing optional notes or photo evidence when needed. Because many foremen were Spanish speakers, information could be filled in Spanish while responses were automatically translated for English-speaking office teams.

05

Validation

After the MVP was ready, part of the team observed live, unguided use of the checklist on site, while the other part documented the session remotely. This process confirmed the core decisions and surfaced only minor refinements, which were implemented and retested before final delivery.
